NorthStar Student Services is currently licensed to serve school districts in Illinois, California, and Michigan. We deliver most services virtually, which means we can support districts across these states regardless of location. On-site services may be available depending on proximity.
Virtual evaluations are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. A trained facilitator or school staff member is present with the student on-site while the school psychologist administers assessments remotely. This model has been used successfully across multiple states and produces the same quality results as in-person evaluations.
We conduct initial psychoeducational evaluations, 3-year reevaluations, behavioral assessments (FBAs), and provide MTSS consultation. Our evaluation batteries typically include cognitive, academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and adaptive skill assessments as needed for each case.
Reports are typically delivered within two weeks of completing testing, or right before the scheduled ETR/IEP meeting — whichever comes first. We work closely with your team to meet compliance timelines.
Yes. We can participate in planning meetings, ETR meetings, and IEP meetings virtually. The level of involvement is up to your district — we can handle the entire case or just the portions you need support with.
It starts with a free consultation where we learn about your district's needs. From there, we set up a simple contract with your Special Education Director or supervisor.
